What we are working on from Eagle's Wings Quilts

Our Prayers and Squares group are so close to a couple of finishes. The Scrappy Stripes quilt now has its binding sewn to the front. It just needs the hand sewing to the back to declare it finished.

The Woodland Panels quilt has all its borders on and quilted now. The binding is made and ready to sew on.

The purples and pinks with aqua accents is coming along and almost ready to sew together.

And we started a new project. It’s a Maple Leaf quilt done with Toronto Maple Leafs fabric. It has a recipient already selected who ...

What We’re Working on from Eagle's Wings Quilts

We finished another quilt this past week, other than the hand stitching on the binding. And I’m making good progress on the Atlanta Garden Sampler, where the blocks are available on Barbara Brackman’s Civil War blog and also here on her Etsy shop. I’ve gone a little rogue on this one. I didn’t like November’s block and December’s is going to have curved pieced Drunkard’s Path type blocks which I didn’t want to do. So I substituted a couple from the Electric Quilt libraries. I've started on the quilt as you ...

What I’m working on from Eagle's Wings Quilts

I have the blocks to another quilt finished and am starting the quilt as you go process on them. The quilt is called Twirling at the Disco found here. It’s a fun and easy quilt to do with so many different options for layout. I took the easy route to avoid having to match a lot of seams and to also avoid having to pay attention to fabrics being next to each other. There are 6 more blocks to go. I’ve run out of batting however, so the last 6 will have to wait until I can pick ...

What I’m working on from Eagle's Wings Quilts

I’m almost finished the large scale floral quilt I’ve been working on the past few weeks. The blocks were all quilted individually before sewing them together. I’ve added the 2 side borders and just need to do the top and bottom border, bind it and this will be another finish. I’ve hit a small snag in that I don’t have enough of the backing fabric to finish the top and bottom borders so I’m going to have to figure out a work around. That will be today’s task.

I’ve also finished this ...

What I’m working on from Eagle's Wings Quilts

I have a finish for this week. The red flying geese quilt we were working on for the prayers and squares group is finished and quilted and has the binding sewn on, although the binding isn’t on in this picture. It has gone to the next person in the process to have the binding hand stitched down and the label sewn on.

The next block for the Civil War quilts BOM called Atlanta Garden came out today. It’s an easy one so I made up the floral version today. At the same time I did another 2 setting ...
